Sunrise

sunrise behind trees

There’s a window in the café attic that leads out onto a small balcony just big enough to hold two people. If they like each other.

She and Evan, working the night shift, sometimes linger after closing, watch the sun rise.

On this morning, the peace and beauty is interrupted by the sight of a fledgling vampire she’d seen earlier in the cafe, on the arm of his sire.

He and Jax lock eyes as he edges from shadows into morning light. Before she can shout, he’s gone up like so much kindling, one flaming arm raised in a wave.

Sunrise needs no explanation.

Ever stayed up all night to watch the sun rise? It's a peculiar sensation. Dawn looks so different when you're seeing it from a not-having-slept angle. Rather surreal.

Totally agree. Sunrise is the best thing to watch and those few moments make the early rising totally worth it. We plan to watch the sunrise from the beach next week, as we live quite close!

I love sunrise. I never stay up all night though. Seen on a winter morning, there's noting more beautiful that sun glowing over fields white with snow.

I'm a night owl who does my best writing in the wee hours, so I often see the sunrise from the "wrong" side. And you're right, it really does feel different to stay up all night to see it versus get up to see it.

Hope you’re having fun with the A to Z challenge,
Jocelyn

Oh, I love beach sunrises. Well, I just love the beach. Part of my to-do list this summer involves some beach time.

Hope you enjoy yourself. :)

I've only ever stayed up all night a couple of times and only one of those times was on purpose, specifically to see the sunrise.

I'm a night owl who wishes she could get some good writing done at night...unfortunately, most of the time I end up playing video games or binging on Supernatural.

Thanks for dropping by.
