Vade-Mecum: Always Be Prepared

It’s just one of those days, when everything that can go wrong will and does go wrong, from the faulty alarm clock to the dead starter on Jax’s car to the now haywire toaster that’s spouting flames, threatening to catch the kitchen on fire.

“I’ve got it!” shouts Jason, a regular, and he follows that with a slew of unfamiliar words, read from the large book he’s always carrying around.

In a split second, the toaster and flames are encased in ice.

So are the rest of the kitchen appliances.

Jason blushes. “Guess I need to work on my aim.”
