Trifextra Challenge: The Right Words

Via Trifectra - Cred: Meghan McCabe

The locked door bows beneath the press of centuries dead hands.

“Hurry it up, Cam!”

“Almost got it together. Then, we just have recite the magic phrase.”

“Don’t tell me. Klaatu varata niktu?”

For the weekend Trifextra challenge, which was to write a response, in 33 words, to the picture above.

Oh, now I have a new (old) movie to watch. I've never seen "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

This is a clever story. I like what you've done with your interpretation.

Well done!  It is amazing how just a few words and a picture can tell you a whole story!

I liked this a lot.  So much said in so well.

 Thank you.

I've never actually seen The Day the Earth Stood Still, but I have watched Army of Darkness probably too many times to be healthy. :)

Wait ... is that a Day the Earth Stood Still reference? That was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. My Dad and I watched it on Betamax.

Oh. It was. Sorry. Just read the comments. YAY for DTESS. And Army.

By way of Army of Darkness, yes. :) In Day the Earth Stood Still the phrase is "klaatu barada nikto," I believe.

And now I need to watch both movies, because I'm totally intrigued.  Which is a compliment!

Uh oh.  I've never seen either.  Clearly, I need to spend some quality time in front of the TV in order to be a better editor.  Thanks for linking up this weekend.  Even having not seen the films you referenced, the piece reads well as a standalone.  Centuries-dead hands.  It's good stuff! Hope to see you back again on Monday for the weekday challenge.

My mother's to blame for raising me on horror movies; Army of Darkness has influenced me for years.  :)

Thanks for stopping by.

A great way to handle a photo prompt. I always find those fun.
